Consider Donating your Body to Science

There are many options you can choose for your body post death. Burial, cremation or even donating your body to an educational or medical research institute. One of those institutes is here in Lisbon, Portugal at Nova Medical School.

The purpose of the bodies is research and undergraduate and postgraduate education, in accordance with the Law Decree 274/99.

This is a sacred and priceless gift for the medical community and humanity as a whole, which is honored by researchers and students. See video below.

NOVA Medical School’s Corpse Donation Office allows anyone of legal age to donate their body to science.

In accordance with Decree-Law 274/99, of July 22nd, the bodies donated here have the sole purpose of research and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the Faculty.

The Portuguese Anatomical Society was created in 1932 and is the oldest scientific society in the field of Morphological Sciences, active in the Iberian Peninsula and maintains close scientific collaboration with its counterparts through the International Federation of Anatomical Associations.

Its members are specialists and interested in research and/or teaching of anatomical sciences.
